2010 Shasta Lake City Damboree in Full Swing

Shasta Lake City Damboree is the first Saturday in May every year.  I've worked weekends for a few years, and then have been commuting since last year, so usually I miss it.  This year I'm glad I got to be a part of it-It was Too Much Fun.

This morning was a pancake breakfast at the SLC Fire Department.  Very yummy, served by football players and fireman.

At 10 am, came the parade down the boulevard.

Doug LaMalfa (I still say WOW, at our little parade?), Ron Largent and Leslie Morgan (These two vying for assessor/recorder) were amongst the participants.

Corning High School put on an awesome display with their band and flag crew.  SLS did great with their drums.

There were lots of baton twirlers including the "Buckeye Cuties" who won an award.

There were pack goats, and then baby goats and horses (Our neighbor was pushing the wheelbarrow as the pooper scoopers-Go Jordan!).

There were lots of go carts- with Rotary Club having an awesome miniature big rig with super loud horn. Oasis Fun Park sporting their fun go carts (Great advertising-I wanted to play).  Shriner's Hospital had fun pulling behind an oversized Fez hat.

There were lots of people giving out candy-thank you so much!

The show ended with a bang-the Asphalt Cowboys shooting up the straw hats (I had to ask my husband, is this safe?).  Our hat/car still smells like gunpowder.

The day continued at Clair Engle Park with arts, crafts, local venders, Bouncey House (Our 3-year old James was very excited about this!) and food.

AND there is still more to come.  Thanks City of Shasta Lake for putting on such a fun event!
